EXTENDING DAYLIGHT-SAVING…CAPITALIST PLOT?
It’s not getting much attention in the USA, but Canada is buzzing about a bill that’s passed both our House and Senate to put March and November on Daylight Saving Time. One Canadian tells the CBC:
Could one of the “benefits” be a psychological effort to extend the workday? Most of us are required to be at work for a particular time in the morning so the start of the workday is set. Under this plan, for a few months, darkness would come an hour later and thus, people would unconsciously extend their working hours.

Presumably the pleasanter distractions of warmer months would be absent in those two months, so we might well extend our working hours, consciously or unconsciously.
Good question, considering how driven those currently in power south of the 49th parallel are by Business concerns.
