NO MORE SECRET BALLOTS?
A comment in the article below gives me more second thoughts about whether ballots really should still be secret. It was brought in under “reform” in the last century, allegedly to prevent us poor slobs from selling our votes. Look, vote-sellling can be detected and prosecuted, among citizens no less than among public officials. But buying one public official, especially someone who counts votes, is alot more effective than buying millions of voters! I’m still a little queasy about removing the veil of secrecy, though.
Something else to think about!
