What is this term, where did it come from all of a sudden a few years ago, why do all the media use it now, and why does it sound like ideological doublespeak?!! like the kind we hear from “patriot/constitutionalist/taking/conservative/sovereign/Man’s home is his castle” types.
In fairness, this report (PDF) suggests it originated in Australia [Did Rupert Murdoch import it here ‘Up Top’ via Faux News/Sky??!] in situations of not just burglary, but intentionally terrorizing the occupants by multiple persons who were armed. Though it also says the expression is not always used this precisely. Why am I suspicious?
