SPEAKING OF ORGANIZING RELIGIOUS WORKERS…

Orthodox Christianity could do alot more for the Church and those around us if we didn’t *all* need to support spouses, children, families, bank accounts, etc. Where are the Orthodox schools, hospitals, service agencies, public-interest law practices, etc., in the Western world???

Orthodoxy opposes the wholesale de-monasticisation of our Monks and Nuns as occurred starting with the 13th-century Mendicant Orders in the West (e.g., Franciscans, Dominicans, etc.). But organizing laity for good works – married or unmarried, temporarily or for life, living in common or at home – would be a big help, if there were or could be interest….
